TRAINING: In the gym around 9am, get a quick lift in for about an hour, and then work on technique and cardio. I come back at night and spar and follow up with conditioning.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started in the Spring of 2005. I wasn’t ready to quit competing in sports after I was done with college football and wrestling. Also, my dream was always to become a professional athlete

What ranks and titles have you held? I was the welterweight champ in a show in Rochester, MN

Do you have any heroes? My parents, Vince Lombardi, and Randy Spring

What is your favorite technique? Slamming

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It is one of those dreams that I thought would never come true. It is the opportunity of a lifetime – the opportunity to become a professional athlete.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I attended RCTC (Rochester Community & Technical College) in Rochester, MN. I didn’t receive a degree as I left school once I started fighting.

What was your job before you started fighting? I have been working on my family’s dairy / crop farm all my life and still am..
