MetroPCS Launches Team Metro with Velasquez and Edgar

MetroPCS and UFC® Launch Team Metro with fighters Cain Velasquez and Frankie Edgar
Few have what it takes to make it to the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC) Octagon cage, but the fighters of Team Metro, sponsored by MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE: PCS), are ready for victory. Former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and former lightweight champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar will be giving exclusive, behind-the-scenes UFC access to MetroPCS customers and UFC fans. MetroPCS will offer live chats and interviews, in-store appearances and contests, as well as exclusive videos such as battle ready segments, personality profiles and more inside the Octagon from these primetime-powered fighters. MetroPCS will offer this video content exclusively on its MetroSTUDIO™ Video-on-Demand application and MetroPCS’ social properties, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Team Metro goes live in Atlanta on April 19 at 1:00 p.m. ET during a MetroPCS Team Metro press conference following an open-to-the-public UFC fighter workout from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. ET at Georgia State University. Media will have the chance to watch heavy-hitter workouts and interview Team Metro members.

“I need to be connected when I’m training and traveling for fights and I’m looking forward to taking MetroPCS’ great service and phones with me,” said Edgar. “Everybody’s moving to Metro and I’m never one to be left out, so I’m moving too.”
